Made it through day one!!!

Wow Buddies, this is probably the hardest thing I have ever done in my life!  More hard then college!  I feel like I am going to crawl out of my skin and punch someone at the same time!  This feels like pure psycological torture!!! Yesterday I felt like ramming into a telaphone pole with my car!!!(don’t worry I would never do that-my car’s too cute=)  But I made it through!!!  I don’t know how but I did.

So this is day 2…In a weird way I feel like if I can get through this I can get through anything; like after I get over this intitial w/d stage, by weightloss journey is going to come back strong!!! I can’t wait for the day that I am not thinking about cig’s ALL DAY LONG!!!!  I can’t wait until I forget about them!!!  O.k. one day at a time…here goes nothing!!!

Well done Megan, you did one day, you can do another - i promise if you do it for 3 days straight it gets easier from day 4 onwards.

I gave up by chain-giving up. I didn’t have a cigarette and then i immediately didn’t have another one straight afterwards!!

Well done!!! :) Glad you didn’t bash your car, poor little car (and obv we don’t want you hurt now do we lol).

You can do this, you’ve already done one day :)

Why not tick on your calender each day, that way you will feel the pride with each tick :) you’ll be surprised how quick those ticks will add up too :)

Also, you will find that your smell and taste will change - my family were heavy smokers (I’ve never smoked) but because it was around me all the time til I was 16, my family then quit and suddenly my taste and smell changed, I could smell it on people where as before I couldn’t.

I guess I must have smelt of it too, but if I hugged someone that smoked I couldn’t smell it, once they quit I could. It was like whatever was blocking it had gone.

You’ll find that - when you do, it’ll be really odd but nice too :)

Go girl!!! We’re 150% behind you xx

You can do it. And it IS very hard. Just remember it’s addiction talking whenever you want to give up. Don’t let your addictive mind fool you and stay strong! A no smoke life is sooo much better!! Can you imagine one day, not too soon from now you’ll be walking and actually detesting the scent of smoke!

Quitting smoking sucks. It is pure hell. I have been smoke free for almost 5 years now after smoking for nearly 15 years. But I cheated.
I started chewing nicotine gum. And then I got addicted to the nicotine gum. I was going through a $40 box of nicotine gum a week!! But I figured it was a safer way to get my nico fix then smoking. I stayed on noicotine gum for almost two years, before I finally was able to wean myself off. It was pure hell.
But now, I don’t get sick anymore, ever. I don’t stink. And I am starting training for triathlons. If I can do it, anyone can do it.

I’m so proud of you, keep at it!

Like I said hun, the first two weeks are the hardest. Do you have a contact buddy. Like I said before cigarettes are like drugs. Quitting is hard to do if you don’t surround yourself with an excellent support system. I suggest you set aside one or two friends who you can absolutely rely on day or night. Call them and ask if they will be your sponsors for quitting smoking. This means whenever you feel yourself reaching for a cigarette you call them instead. I had an excellent friend that did this for me, and it made a world of difference. I am so proud of you and really hope that you stick with this. It will get better I promise.

Good job. I know you can do it. :)

Things will fluctuate. One day it would be easy, another would be pure hell. Stay the course. Get your support system in place.

Always the best advice from moonbeam/Tatiana. :) Hope things are going all right and are getting better and better Megan. :)
